All of our tuition sessions have a maximum of 6 students per class. They are smaller group sizes as this enables good topic discussion, encourages peer learning and still allows sessions to be personalised to the students needs.
The EEF (The Education Endowment Foundation) have noted how small group tuition is effective in delivering good results, however ‘once group size increases above six or seven there is a noticeable reduction in effectiveness’. Therefore, at Step Forward Tuition, we will never allow group sessions to have more than 6 students as we want students to benefit fully from the sessions.
Students often feel nervous about attending group sessions as they are worried about mixing with new people, however, here at Step Forward Tuition we have an anti-bullying policy and ensure that students feel safe, happy and confident. In each classroom, there will be a question box so if your child doesn’t feel comfortable asking a question in front of the class, they can write it down and the Tutor will ensure that it is answered in the next session, keeping the childs name anonymous.
If at any point your child is falling behind the others in the group, or they require more 1 to 1 support then the Tutor will be more than happy to provide this on occasions.
We do all we can at the tuition centre to offer a personalised, safe, comfortable learning environment where students can develop their skills to achieve the grades they deserve.
